Preparations for Estonia’s 100th anniversary celebration are going at full speed. The Expert Committee of Estonia 100 has called on people to make gifts for Estonia’s centenary. The athletic gift idea of Pärnu County is Marathon „Republic of Estonia 100“.

Marathon EV100Marathon The Republic of Estonia 100 is a special event of Pärnu County Victory Day Marathon. Taking place on 22nd of June 2018 it marks country’s birthday in a special sporty way. Pärnu County Victory Day Marathon embodies a special “story” – Pärnu County has strong connections with regaining independence of Estonia. As the marathon’s slogan says “Fire comes from the roots.” The oldest remaining settlement found on the marathon route is Pulli village and “Manifesto to the Peoples of Estonia” was read out aloud on the balcony of the Endla Theatre in Pärnu.

This sport event also has a ritual role as each year the flame lit by the President on Victory Day parade derives its strength from the previous day memorial fire lit in Estonian Soldiers Memorial Church in Tori. The flame will be borne by runners along the route to Pärnu.

Therefore the Republic of Estonia 100 Marathon is a special event and a treasured gift for sports people and the homeland. For the participants, it is a unique “one-and-only ” running event, which enables to celebrate an important birthday on the route with friends and acquaintances.

The “blue-black-white” marathon distance will take participants along the important historical monuments and presents beautiful landscape of Pärnu County – Pulli Village, the prehistoric settlement Reiu, Reiu-Raeküla pine dune, eye-catching Jaanson’s Track, Tallinn Gates, moat, Pärnu Beach – and these are just some of the landmarks that make the marathon one of a kind experience. In addition to the marathon also half marathon, relay race and children’s race will take place. All participants of the marathon and half-marathon will see a lot of blue-black-white along the track and will get a dignified and thematic medal in the finish – Monument to the Proclamation of Independence on Pärnu Rüütli Square.

Registration to the marathon distance of  The Republic of Estonia 100 will be opened on 22nd June, on the same day as Pärnu County Victory Day Marathon 2017. Register to Marathon Republic of Estonia 100
