Pärnu County Victory Day Marathon 2022

1. Objectives
●  To promote a sportive lifestyle among different generations.
●  To bring the Memorial Flame (lit in Tori St George’s Lutheran Church) on June 22nd to Pärnu, the birthplace of Estonia, where it will be delivered to the Victory Day ceremony.
●  To tell the story of Pärnu County in connection with the formation of the first sites of the Estonian population, the Estonian national awakening and the birth of the Republic.

2. Organizer
NGO Pärnu Two Bridges Club in cooperation with Pärnu County Sports Association and sponsors.

3. Time and Place
June 22nd, 2022 Tori (start of marathon), Paikuse (start of half marathon), Pärnu (finish).

4. The Race Centre, start, finish, track and service on track
4.1. The Race Centres are in Tori, Paikuse and Pärnu city.
4.2. Start and finish: Start of marathon at 15.00 in Tori, start of half marathon at 16.45 in Paikuse. Finish area on Liberty square in Pärnu. Finish of the race is closed 6 hours after the start of the marathon, i.e. at 21.00.
4.3. Track. Marked and regulated by judges; runs on asphalt side-roads and light traffic roads, Reiu-Raeküla forest landscape, streets of Pärnu City.
4.3.1. Participants must follow the traffic regulations and signals from traffic controllers.
4.3.2. Control of the participants on the track: verification of the participants checked on three places (on 42 km distance), respectively on two places (on 21 km) on the track.
4.3.3. There are 12 refreshment stations (RS) on the marathon course and 6 refreshment stations on the half marathon course (see below) where sports drink, water and energy boosting foods are offered. First aid is assured.

4.3.3. First aid is available on the track. In case you see anyone in need, please inform a refreshment station, medical workers on track, organizers or call on 112. First aid is provided by medical volunteers and Pärnu Ambulance.

Marathon 42,195 km (timed)
Half-marathon 21,097 km (timed)

6. Timing
An electronic timekeeping chip is attached to the back side of the bib. Please check it before the start! The number must be worn on the chest and be visible throughout the whole race. Only the contestants with the personal start number are allowed to participate. Please do not fold the number nor remove the chip. The chip deactivates automatically after finishing the race; no need to return it. Please do not cover the bib with your hand while finishing (e.g. for stopping running watch), otherwise the time might not get fixed.

8. Registration and entry fees

8.1. Registration alternatives
8.1.1.Pre-registration on the website www.2silda.ee until 19.06.2022  at 23.59.

8.1.2. On the Race day on site: in Tori at 13.00-14.45 and in Paikuse at 15.00-16.30.
8.1.3. The basis for entry in the list of participants is the start fee received. For those who have paid by the invoice, the payment of the start fee will be checked within 2 working days. Participants who have paid via the bank link will be entered in the start protocol immediately.

8.2. Groups
8.2.1. Counting from 5 people there is a discount of -15%. Discount applies when all members of the group register at the same time. No double discounts (e.g. senior / youth discount plus group discount).
8.2.2. Please use the general registration form – in the beginning of registration one can choose the number of persons one would like to register. After that you can add the data of the participants. When pressing the button “apply data of participant nr 1 on all participants”, the same address, club / company will be applied on all.

8.3. To pay with the invoice, please choose the relevant option and fill all the required fields. The invoice is sent via email. Once the invoice has been paid, all participants will be registered.

All prices include 20% VAT. Entry fee will not be refunded in case of cancellation of registration. No senior/youth/group discount on site.

9. Entry fee includes:

  • A race number
  • A chip
  • A medal
  • A shirt (from Craft)
  • An electronic diploma with participant’s name, personal time and place
  • A food parcel
  • A drink
  • Washing facilities
  • Service on track (refreshment stations and first aid)
  • Manned luggage storage (buses in the start area, will thereafter drive to finish area)

10. Re-registration
10.1. Re-registration is both a change of the distance and/or the name of the participant.

10.2. Re-registration is allowed until 19.06.2022 at 23.59 and is free of cost until May 31st. From June 1st, a service fee of 5 euros will be charged. In addition, price difference must be covered when changing between cheaper and more expensive race options. However, the price difference won’t be compensated in the opposite case. To do this, send a corresponding request to the e-mail info@2silda.ee.
10.3. Re-registration from physical to virtual will take place until 19.06.2022 at 23.59. No re-registration will take place later!
10.4. NB! Participants registered for the event will be automatically entered into the virtual race list only if the Victory Day Marathon is cancelled. In all other cases, the participant must submit a request to the organizer for re-registration. From the moment of  re-registration the guide of the virtual race applies to the participant.

11. Transportation from finish to start. Parking.
Free shuttle buses provided by the organizer depart in front of Pärnu hotel. A seat in the bus can be booked from June 1st until June 19th (at 23.59). Requests after that will be considered only when free seats are available.
NB! No organised transportation after the race back to the start area.

11.2. Parking in the start and finish area: general parking conditions in the area apply. Please pay close attention to the parking signs.

12. Giving out start materials.
12.1. In Tori (start of marathon) on 22.06.2022 at 13.00-14.45.
12.2. In Paikuse (start of half-marathon) 22.06.2022 at 15.00-16.30.

13. Discontinuance
In case a participant decides to discontinue, (s)he must inform the closest refreshment station. The organizer has the right to ask a participant to discontinue in case the participant won’t pass the refreshment station before its closing time or won’t finish the marathon within 6 hours or has poor health.

14. Results
The results can be checked with a scanner in the race center and are published in real time on the website of www.championchip.ee (timing service provider ChampionChip Eesti OÜ). The final results confirmed by the judges will be published on the website www.2silda.ee not later than June 27th at 17.00. Diplomas can be accessed thereafter.

16. Award ceremony
Prizes are awarded to the top three in general ranking (both in men’s and women’s ranking) as well as to the winners in each age group on both distances.

17. Photographing / snapshots
The organizer has the right to use and publish all the photos and videos made by the organizer for marketing purposes.

18. Appeals
All appeals against results, violations etc. must be filed in 2 hours after the finish is closed. Appeal fee is 50 EUR which is refunded only if the appeal is satisfied. Appeals are handled by the jury that consists of the chief organizer, the head judge, and the head of secretariat. Other unforeseen cases are resolved by the Organizing Committee. Organizers reserve the right to change the terms listed in the guide, if the situation requires it.

19. General
19.1. Each participant is responsible for her/his health condition. A participant on the marathon distance must be at least 18 years old and a healthy person. A participant on the half marathon distance must be at least 15 years old and a healthy person.
19.2. Please follow the reminder for the participants that will be published on the website www.2silda.ee latest one week before the event.

20. Rights of the organizer
20.1. The organizer has the right to change the conditions set out in the instructions if the situation requires.
21.2. The organizer has the right to disqualify the participant in case he/she doesn’t follow the regulations of the event, disturbs other participants or prevents the event in any other way.
20.3. All protocols of the events organized by Two Bridges Sports Club are public documents. Start protocols will be published on the website of the Organizer and timekeeping service provider. Finish protocols will be published on the website of the Organizer and timekeeping service provider. The organizer is only responsible for the information on its official channels (webpage, Facebook, YouTube).
20.4. The organizer has the right to send to all registered participants a reminder before the event and a follow-up letter with the feedback questionnaire after the event. Corresponding newsletters are sent to the email entered to the registration form. Unsubscribing is not possible.
20.5. Your personal data will only be used for the purpose for which you have entrusted these data to us. Furthermore, no personal data will be passed on to third parties.
20.6. By registering and paying the registration fee, the participant agrees with the terms in this guide and confirms his good health.

21. Event cancellation and possible restrictions due to COVID 19 virus
21.1. Force majeure means any unforeseen event of which the timing and manner cannot be controlled or prevented by the organizer (eg war, riot, strike, fire, flood, earthquake, (snow) storm, torrential rain, etc.). In the event of Force Majeure and other situations beyond the control of the Organizer, changes may be made to the program and service package.
21.2. Due to the restrictions of COVID19, a situation may arise where the number of participants and spectators during the Two Bridges is limited. The organizer acts in accordance with the regulations established by the Government of Estonia, which may differ from the regulations in force at the time of registration. The activities of the organizer are based on the COVID-19 virus prevention plan for sports events agreed in the club of MTÜ Pärnu Kahe Silla Klubi.
22.3. Due to force majeure, the participation fee will be refunded in accordance with these instructions and applicable law.
21.4. If the Two Bridges race is canceled due to force majeure and with at least 72 hours’ notice before the start time, the participant will be automatically entered in the virtual Two Bridges race participant list.
21.5. If the registered participant does not wish to use the transfer options specified in clause 22.4 and wishes to receive a refund of the entry fee, he / she must submit a formally completed application to the Club by email (info@2silda.ee) within one month from the date of the missed event. The application forms will be added to the Club’s website www.2silda.ee.
21.6. In the event of cancellation of the event due to force majeure, the organizer of the race will not reimburse the expenses incurred by the participants to third parties. We recommend foreign participants to buy travel insurance which also covers the costs incurred in the event of cancellation of the event.
