Thank you for registering to the Pärnu County Victory Day Marathon! For a pleasant day, the organizing team kindly asks you to read the instruction below. The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the event program and conditions set out in the guide.

START TIMES:
14.30  Children’s race on Freedom Square in Pärnu;
15.00 Start of marathon in Tori;
16.45 Start of half-marathon in Paikuse (Jõekalda 13, Silla küla Paikuse).

GIVING OUT START MATERIALS 22.06:
*  In Tori – start area of marathon at 13.00–14.45;
In Paikuse – start area of half-marathon at 15.00–16.30.

NB! Start materials are handed out on the basis of bib number, i.e. start ma.terials are sorted by the numbers, not by names. Therefore, please check your number from the start protocol in advance! Protocols with start numbers will be published on the website of the Two Bridges Club latest on June 20 at 15.00.
In case of lost, damaged or forgotten race bib, a new bib must be bought from secretariat to start the race. NB! Fee for the new race bib is 5€.

HANDING OUT THE RUNNIG SHIRTS:
The shirts are handed out on June 22nd only in the start locations together with start materials.
Participants who register to the race during between June 1st and 19th or on the race day, will receive their shirts in JULY. The shirts are handed out in the information centre of Pärnu Keskus until July 31st or will be sent by post upon agreement.

FREE TRANSPORTATION:
The organizer has organised special shuttle buses from Pärnu to the start locations. Buses leave at the side of hotel “Pärnu.” A seat in the bus can be booked until June 15th (at 23.59) HERE. Booking requests submitted later will be taken into consideration only in case of available places. Booking is checked when entering into the bus.

NB! Please do not leave your personal belongings in the bus. The organiser and transportation company will not be responsible for personal belongings that are left in the bus. Personal belongings can be stored in the luggage room.

PARKING:
*  Start location in Paikuse and Tori (free of cost).
Finish location, nearby Freedom Square in Pärnu, according to the parking regulations. Please carefully follow the parking signs. For private parking areas (eg Europark) the rules and the price of the service provider apply.

TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENT: Please carefully follow the signs of traffic organisers and traffic signs. No roads in the start area are closed.

CHANGEROOMS:
*  In the start location of marathon – Tori Community House;
In the start location of half-marathon – Reiu Holiday Centre;
In the finish location – cloth changing tents or Pärnu City Centre Sports Hall (Kuninga tn 29).

LUGGAGE STORAGE and transportation of luggages:  Attended cloakrooms are located in the start areas. After the start is given, all bags are transported to the finish area where these can be reclaimed based on the bib number.

TOILETS: free toilets are located in start and finish area.

ROUTE: runs on asphalt side-roads and light traffic roads, Reiu-Raeküla forest landscape, streets of Pärnu City. See the route map here.

SERIVCE ON TRACK: First aid on the route and in the competition centre is coordinated by Mai Pharmacy and is provided by Pärnu Ambulance and Medial volunteers. In case you see a participant in need, please inform a service point, Medial workers, organisers or call on 112.

There are 12 service points (SP) on the marathon course and 6 service points on the half marathon course where sports drink, water and moistening sponges are offered. From Sindi SP (14,9km) on marathon distance energy boosting snacks are offered. Enervit energy gels are provided in Paikuse SP (21 km). See the menu of service points here. There are also on water curtains and shower stations on the route.

TIMING: An electronic timekeeping chip is attached to the back side of the bib. Please check it before the start! The number must be worn on chest and be visible throughout the whole race. Only the contestants with valid personal start number are allowed to participate. Please do not fold the number nor remove the chip. The chip deactivates automatically after finishing the race; no need to return it. Timing service is provided by ChampionChip Eesti OÜ.

CATERING IN THE FINISH LOCATION: provided on presenting of bib number. Menu: soup, piece of bread, fruits and sweets, Vichy Vitamin sports drink and Vichy mineral water, Saku Go alcohol free beer, buckthorn juice and water.

WASHING FACILITIES: provided on presenting of bib number – Pärnu City Centre Sports Hall (Kuninga 29, Pärnu) until at 21.30.

AWARD CEREMONY: in two parts: starting at 18.45 and continuing at 19.10 after the arrival of the memorial flame to Freedom Square. Prizes are awarded to top three in general ranking (both in men’s and women’s ranking) as well as winners in each age group.

FINISH: Closed at 21.00.

RESULTS, PHOTOS:
The results can be checked using the scanner in the competition centre on Freedom Square and will be published as informal results on the website of the Two Bridges Club. The real-time results will appear on the homepage of  ChampionChip Eesti OÜ. The final results will be published latest on June 27th at 17.00.
The organizer has the right to use and publish all the photos and videos made by the organizer for marketing purposes.

AFTER THE EVENT:  Upon request, prizes (not taken out on the race day) will be delivered at the expense of the recipient after the race. The prizes can be picked up from the information centre of Pärnu Keskus from June 25th till July 8th on the basis of an identity document. Start materials (including running shirt, medal) won’t be given out after the race.

RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARTICIPANT: The competitor is responsible for his/her own state of health and confirms that (s)he is physically fit to complete a marathon or a half marathon. In case of a health problem, the participant discontinues the race and turns to a service station, organizers or medical volunteers, or calls on 112.

PRIOR TO START:

  • Relax and do not start when tired.
  • Drink enough water and choose appropriate meals.
  • Check the weather conditions and get dressed accordingly.
  • In case of hot weather wear light coloured hat and use sun cream. Choose suitable pace and avoid hypertension.
  • Drink enough liquids in the service points and cool down if possible.

MEDICAL CHECK: for health security reasons we recommend to perform a health check prior to the race. Medical tests can be performed at your family or sports doctor.

 

SERVICES FOR ADDTIONAL CHARGE 

Medal Engraving. All finishers will receive a medal. In the finish area engraving service is provided for 3 € (cash only). Engraving information is taken from the initial finish protocol; therefore the organizer won’t guarantee the compliance with the final results. The service is provided by Auhinnapood OÜ (www.auhinnapood.ee).
